Rabbi Carolan Glatstein

I am a rabbi-mama-artist here to help you craft unique Jewish rituals for any occasion and ritual objects that authentically reflect your personal journey and aesthetic. My passion lies in collaborating to design meaningful experiences that reflect our shared values, traditions, and creativity. Whether it's a one-of-a-kind tallit or kippah, a fully personalized ceremony, or an in-depth chevruta experience, I believe in the transformative power of ritual and art to enrich our lives. Together, we’ll weave the threads of our heritage and imagination into something truly special.

What is Wilderness Weaving?

Wilderness Weaving is born out of the understanding that the bulk of the Torah details the Israelites’ wandering Bamidbar, the wilderness. It is not merely a place of wandering but the crucible where the Israelites transformed from a disparate collection of tribes into a cohesive people. Amidst the harsh landscape and unpredictable terrain, they forged their identity through shared struggles, divine encounters, and the sacred gift of Torah. The vastness of the desert became their classroom as they learned the importance of community and resilience.

We often find ourselves dreading uncertainty, desperately and impatiently waiting for the next destination. The desert, and our own liminal spaces, are not simply voids to be filled; they are ripe with possibility, where we can explore the depths of our feelings, thoughts, and dreams. Yet, like the Israelites, it is in these uncertain, sometimes uncomfortable moments that we truly learn who we are. The Wilderness is not a detour, but rather the essence of who we are. Embracing the in-betweens invites us to welcome change and redefine what it means to be ourselves in a world that is constantly evolving.
